The Disturbed zombie makeup competition

Daniel Armstrong, the producer of The Disturbed, is looking for make-up artists to design and create a zombie make-up for his forthcoming movie. The person who puts together the best make-up will be given a chance to star as an extra in the movie, wearing their own make-up. They will also be credited in the movie as "An additional Special Effects Make-up Artist." All you have to do is submit a picture of yourself or somebody else wearing your make-up to me: rodney@intermedia.com.au. Daniel Armstrong and his production designer will then pick a winner.

Armstrong has provided a guideline to act as a brief and to help you understand what kind of make-up he is looking for:
There are two basic types of zombies in The Disturbed. The first type is what we are calling Lobotomy Zombies.

Lobotomy Zombies

The inspiration for the Lobotomy Zombies comes from research into the history of the treatment of the mentally ill. In 1946 an American doctor - Walter Freeman - revolutionised the treatment of the insane. He invented a procedure called the trans-orbital lobotomy. This involved inducing a patient with sedation, inflicting two quick electric shocks to the head, rolling back one of the patient's eyelids and inserting a device, 2/3 the size of a pencil, through the upper eyelid into the patient's head. Following this, the device used to be tapped with a hammer into the patient's head/frontal lobe. After the appropriate depth was achieved, the device was manipulated back and forth in a swiping motion within the patient's head. From this the Lobotomy Zombies of The Disturbed were born. They have been locked in padded cells, secured in straightjackets and lobotomised. They lurch and drool and, as they escape their padded cells, seek to devour every living thing that crosses their path.

Uber Zombies

The second type of zombie in The Disturbed is called an Uber Zombie. These are Lobotomy Zombies who have been experimented upon surgically by, for want of a better term, a mad doctor. The doctor seeks to experiment upon the zombies in the quest to discover the limits of sanity and insanity. As a result, these zombies have been mutilated, and augmented by arcane technologies - just to see what the result will be. These zombies are creatures of terror and nightmare, designed to disturb and inspire horror. They are locked in the subterranean bowels of the insane asylum, were they rot and brood - waiting patiently for flesh.

All our zombies are extremely violent. The majority of them will be female.
